Now at our 2nd stop - Nanjing

We flew into Nanjing today, the capitol of Maggie's province. It is a smaller city than Beijing, but just as crowded. Matt and I discussed how we both thought of China only as we see it in kungfu movies. Small cities in the midst of mountain scapes (Beijing has 20 million people & Nanjing has 8 million). Haha!
Our hotel is beautiful! The lobby has a coy pond and a piano player.
We LOVE our guide here in Nanjing. She took us to a small grocery store to pick up some water. While there we picked out some potato chips...flavors? Numb (no, that's not a misprint) and spicy hot pot flavor pringles AND Hot and Sour Fish soup LAYS (only Matt will be trying those).  I picked up one can, thinking it was sour cream and onion, just going by the coloring of the can. Thankfully I asked our guide if that was truly the flavor...glad I asked! It was actually seaweed flavor!! Aaagghh!
Our plans for the week have shifted quite a bit. Tomorrow (Monday) was supposed to be 'gotcha day' but a meeting came up or something for the different agencies/offices and no one can get their kids tomorrow. SO, we will get Maggie Tuesday afternoon (around 1AM in the states). Our guide told us that Maggie has never been outside. Kids younger than 2 do not go out b/c 1-2 caretakers care for 15 babies. It would be very hard for them to watch that many. So, our sweet girl has a huge change coming for her. We covet your prayers for her.
Well, I leave you tonight thankful... 1) for free Wi-Fi in our hotel room (first hotel was $10/day); 2) 3 english speaking tv channels; 3) English on a restaurant menu. 4) a crib in our room set up for Maggie (makes it more real)

    Love,
    Andrea
P.s. Tell Matt not to eat too many of those weird potato chips! He wants a strong stomach for the whole trip...especially meeting Maggie! :)
